MODULE Description

This module is designed to have participants engage in home-based physical activities and create budget friendly, tasty, nutritional meal choices to positively impact their overall well-being.

Facilitator

Karen Rosito

Ms. Karen Rosito has been a Nutritionist, Personal and Group Certified Fitness Trainer (C.F.T.) for the past 30 years. She holds degrees in both Public Health and Health Science with emphasis on Nutrition, Diet Therapy and Fitness. She is also an entrepreneur in the field of Nutrition and Diet Therapy in Belize with over 10,000 clients. She Presently Wellness and Sports Coordinator at Belize Telemedia Limited for the past 10 years. Ms. Rosito is Owner/Manager of Health Maxx Wellness Concepts which offers Nutrition and Diet therapy, Food Service, and Fitness training. Her hobbies include sport fishing, cycling, snorkeling and canoeing.

Mr. Sean Kuylen

Sean Kuylen was born in Corozal, and raised in beautiful Dangriga. Sean’s passion for the kitchen was nurtured by one of his greatest influences-his mother. His appreciation of Belizean cultural cuisines was fostered from a young age and later fused with other styles when he ventured abroad in 2004.

Through training at the City College of San Francisco, Chef Kuylen learned American and French cuisines and did internships at both the historic Cliff House in San Francisco, California and the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

He returned to his beloved Belize working at celebrated resorts and later ventured out once again this time to the Caribbean in Dominica, West Indies and later St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Now officially back in Belize, he tours the country catering from his fully equipped mobile kitchen delivering his “Inspired Belizean Cuisine”.

Beside his love for cooking and music, Chef Sean Kuylen is also the host and contributing author to the "Flavors of Belize" Cookbook and Youtube videos. Chef/Host of Great Belize Cooking and the host of Belize Mek we Go, a Belize traveling show. Sean Kuylen has been representing Belize and its food internationally promoting Belizean Cuisine to El Salvador, Mexico, The United States, London & Taiwan and continue to be featured on local television, podcasts and magazines.

In 2017, Sean presented his No Bar Code speech at Tedx Belmopan which has since been reproduced as a Chief Talk presentation in Miami, Florida. Taste Belize Speech in London, United Kingdom, and at the Beltraide Entrecon, Belize City in 2019. Chef Kuylen and Team Belize Culinary ensemble represented and brought home Silver and Bronze medals in two consecutive years respectively at the esteemed Taste of the Caribbean in Miami, Florida. Chef Sean’s adventure continues with vibrant and interactive social media stories as he captures the true Taste & Kulcha of Belize!
