It is the responsibility of all Yuhuans to read, understand and comply fully with the examination rules and regulations.
Reporting Time/Attendance
Report to the examination venues and be seated at least 15 minutes before the start of the examination.
Inform the school if he/she is on medical leave or is not able to reach the school on time due to unexpected situations.
Late for exam:
Allowed to sit for paper if affected by a major train disruption. The full duration of the paper will be given as long as students arrive before the end of the paper.
Allowed to sit for paper if less than 30 minutes late. No make- up time shall be given. Marks will be awarded.
May be allowed to sit for paper with approval from school leaders if more than 30 minutes late. No make-up time shall be given. Results may be penalised.
Allowed to leave school after paper if not sitting for a second paper. Do not report to school if not sitting for paper.
Sit for all components of a subject. If absent, student must submit a valid medical certificate to his/her form teacher on his/her return to school. Otherwise, he/she will be reported as ‘Absent’. This will be taken into consideration for promotion to the next academic level.
Examination Instructions
Check seating plan before the start of the examination. Sit at assigned seats only.
Switch off mobile phones and place them inside the lockers. Keep calculator covers and mathematical set casings that are not transparent inside bags. No material should be placed under the tables.
All bags and unauthorised materials are to be placed in front of the classroom/at the back of the hall.
Place water bottles on the floor next to seats.
Only transparent stationery cases are allowed. If student does not have a transparent case during examination, he/she has to bring the stationery without the case.
Only use calculators and dictionaries that are stated on the SEAB approved list.
Write full name, class and index number on the cover page and on every sheet of writing paper.
Read carefully the instructions on the question booklets and answer booklets.
Students are not allowed to borrow any stationery or use writing instrument with erasable ink.
Inform the invigilator if the wrong question paper is issued or there are missing pages/materials.
Students are not allowed to go to the toilet during the first hour and the last 30 minutes of the paper.
A student may be prohibited from taking the examination, have his/ her results terminated or given a grade penalty, if he/she commits any of the following:
uses unapproved calculator or dictionary for the examination;
has in is/her possession any unauthorized reference material/ notes,
communicates/attempts to communicate with another student or commits/attempts acts of dishonesty;
exhibits improper conduct or behaviour during the examination. Examples include disturbing others, taking toilet breaks unescorted, disobeying instructions of invigilators, writing/ reading before the announcement or continuing to write after the stop writing announcement had been made or leaving the examination room before the end of the examination without permission.
End of Examination
18. Stop writing/shading answers immediately when instructed by the invigilator.
19. Tie the answer scripts together with the string provided.
20. Keep quiet and remain seated while the answer scripts are being collected.
