English Language

At Woodgrove Primary,  every Woodgrovian has the potential to be developed into an effective and confident communicator.

Through our English Programmes, we seek to develop discerning readers, empathetic communicators and creative inquirers through engaging and purposeful programmes that promote multi-literacies and appreciation for the language. These programmes aim to provide opportunities for Woodgrovians to use English creatively .

 Programmes

Every fornight, students will share on one of the following themes - current affairs, festivals, school values and award winning books/most borrowed books.

Woodgrove Radio Show is a dramatized performance that depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listen imagine the characters and story.

In each episode, students would share some of the highlights of the term.

Selected students will engage in a conversation about a chosen topic, which will then be recorded as a podcast.

Every term, students from the different levels (i.e., Lower, Middle and Upper Primary) will share their favourite books (e.g., e-books from Scholastic Literacy Pro).
