Why do we need a DSA Support Program?
More often that not, DSA students would go on to represent the school for various National School Games which could possibly result in them missing lessons
Because of their talent and potential, they would be put through more intensive training sessions as compared to the other CCAs
DSA students are expected to honour their commitment to the school and CCA, as such they cannot transfer school or CCA after admission. Learning to juggle both commitments is imperative to their success within and beyond Unity Secondary School
We want to ensure that our DSA students do well not just in sports, but more importantly academically, so that they are in a good position to pursue a course of their choice in the future.
Unity DSA Support Program is a newly introduced program aimed to support our DSA students in the following areas:
An after-school study programme on non-CCA days to build a study culture and to ensure DSA students keep up with the school work
Buddy system in their classes to help DSA students keep track of their school work when they miss lessons due to competitions
Teacher-Mentors (KPs) to meet non-performing graduating students fortnightly to guide them and monitor their work progress
Priority given to DSA students for Education and Career Guidance (ECG) opportunities
