Department PLC provides opportunities for teachers to collaborate and apply their learning from PD. Teams should refrain from using the time just for department admin matters.
The deliverable of PLC is demonstrable practices that is documented so that the practices can be shared and adopted by other departments. It is also use as evidences to show that the learning from PD is translated into classroom practices.
Departments shared their respective focus for PLC.
The IP heads agreed that during PLC sessions, it should be guided by the following
Students Outcomes
Students should be able to do F.T.A.C. during their learning and use tech whenever appropriate so that the learning should lead to self-directed learning with active learning
Teacher Outcomes
Teacher should be able to design learning experiences using active learning process (e-Pedagogy)
Teacher should be able to differentiate the learning for students with SEN (3 tier approach) using the Ecological framework and STP
Department Outcomes
Use APIE as a basic frame to guide the PLC session discussion.
Content
Decide on the content to be covered and how it is linked to the SOWs
Pedagogy
Use Active Learning Process as a base pedagogy. Departments can also consider subject specific pedagogy that is aligned to ALP. English - CLEARR, Science - WOTD etc
Develop teaching strategies to address students with special needs
Assessment
Decide on how students learning can be assessed. How do we know students have learned?
What to do when students don't learn?

SSD to create department PLC site for PLC team to document the discussion and practices
Department to email SSD the PLC focus
