Hello, my fellow passionate Geography educators!

GEM! Geography Education Matters!

a publication for Singapore Geography teachers,

by Singapore Geography teachers

In this issue, our fellow Geography educator, Ms Ng Wen Xin shares some ways she harnesses technology in Geography! Look at her sharing in our Geo-graphics column! Do contact us if you would like to share too!

Through GEM! we endeavour to stoke the fire and keep our passion for Geography burning. Go on ahead and click the icons to access the various columns now...

Rest assured that we have heard your feedback on the 2023 Upper Secondary Geography syllabus! We have received your feedback loud and clear and are implementing the following to support the Singapore Geography fraternity!

Join us for the USG Engagement Session that focuses on the IDTs. Mark your calendars for 9th November

Also, we hear your call for more assessment support, we have created a new link in OPAL 2.0, GYWiki that will house all Assessment Support Materials (ASM). In each of these spaces, we aim to provide exemplars for your use to upgrade your assessment practices for school-based assessment.

You will notice that we recommend that schools align the mark schemes for school -based assessments, with the mark schemes in the Specimen Paper Marking Guides (SPMGs) provided by SEAB for the national examinations.

These exemplars were created in collaboration with schools across Singapore. We are grateful for the schools and teachers who have worked with us in the development of these materials.

Please log in to OPAL 2.0 and click on these links to access the Lower Secondary Geography ASM and the Upper Secondary Geography ASM.

Do look out for updates to the Teaching and Learning Guides (TLG) that will be published in this last quarter of 2023. The TLGs can be accessed from GYWiki in OPAL 2.0.
