Innovation does not need to be groundbreaking. It can be simple too!
Activity 1 - Four Straight Lines
Draw 4 continuous straight lines to connect the dots.
You cannot lift the pen from the paper while drawing the four lines.
The lines must pass through each of the nine dots
Answer
To solve this problem, you will have to think ‘out’ of the box.
Lines can be out of the space of the 9 dots.
Activity 2 - Watch videos and share your thoughts based on CSI questions
•[clarify] How are “Here! balloons” used to indicate an available parking space?
•[clarify] Why might finding a carpark space be particularly challenging in South Korean cities?
•[sensitise] How might reducing time spent searching for parking show care for others in the community?
•[influence] Do you think Here! balloons are an effective long-term solution or a temporary fix? Why?
•[influence] If this system were introduced in Singapore, what modifications would be needed?
•[clarify] What was the problem the ice sculptor was trying to solve?
•[clarify] How did the ice sculptor simplify the problem?
•[sensitise] What environmental and physical challenges must be managed during an ice concert, and how do they affect performance outcomes?
•[influence] What opportunities exist for expanding this concept into community-based projects?
If the problem is too big, it can be effective to break down the problem into smaller ones
