Application for MOE Local Pre-University Scholarship is open from now till 24 February 2025.
Interested students can visit https://go.gov.sg/MOE-Local-Scholarships for details on the scholarships and application process. You will need a personal valid email address for the account registration on the application portal.
Selection interviews will be held from March to August for shortlisted students. Offer of awards will be out from June to September and only successful candidates will be notified through email.
The scholarships which are applicable for Saints to apply are as appended.
A) MOE Pre-University (offered to top students who have achieved outstanding academic results and excelled in co-curricular activities)
Eligibility:
i) Singapore Citizen or Non-citizen with at least 1 parent who is a Singapore Citizen
ii) Have done consistently well in school and obtained an aggregate score of 8 points or less (without bonus points deduction) in their GCE O-Level examinations for English and Higher Mother Tongue, or Mother Tongue and 5 relevant subjects as in the Pre-University admission criteria, or equivalent based on the school's internal assessment.
iii) Have good co-curricular activities record.
iv) Have good conduct record.
v) Scholarship recipients must not be concurrent recipients of any other MOE scholarships except the Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools (ESIS).
Terms and conditions:
Cash allowance of $750 annually
Remission of school fee at Singapore Citizens' rate less any subsidies, subject to annual cap of $2400
Tenable for 2 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance at JC1 and good conduct
Not required to enter into a bond to serve the Singapore Government
B) Engineering and Tech Programme Scholarship (ETPS; offered to students who have strong foundations in Mathematics and Science, with an inclination towards applied, interdisciplinary and hands-on learning)
Eligibility:
i) Singapore Citizen only;
ii) Have done consistently well in school and have obtained outstanding overall results at the GCE O-Level Examinations;
iii) At least A2 for a Mathematics and a Science subject;
iv) Good record of co-curricular activities, particularly in STEM areas;
v) Good conduct record;
vi) Must not be concurrent recipients of any other MOE scholarships except the Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools;
vii) Must offer H2 Mathematics and at least 1 of the following subjects
H2 Physics
H2 Computing
H2 Further Mathematics
Terms and conditions:
Cash allowance of $1000 annually
Remission of school fee at Singapore Citizens' rate less any subsidies, subject to annual cap of $2400
Tenable for 2 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance at JC1 and good conduct
Not required to enter into a bond to serve the Singapore Government
All awardees are expected to fulfil the following:
Participate in the 1-week ETPS Flagship STEM workshop to be conducted between late December of first year and mid-January of second year of scholarship
Participate in a work attachment/internship programme in June or December of second year of scholarship
Awardees are also be strongly encouraged to participate in a hands-on engineering-related project or learning activity of student’s choice within the duration of the scholarship. Some examples include participation in the Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC), Singapore Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) or equivalent.
Do note that you will need to submit an essay of about 200 words about yourself. You are recommended to write the essay on Word document first, before transferring it to the application portal. You may use the following questions to guide your write-up.

Why is engineering interesting to you?
Highlight no more than 3 STEM-related engineering focused activities (could be organised by the school or self-initiated) that you have engaged in and share your experiences and achievements.

This is a prestigious scholarship launched in 2023. Scholars can look forward to exclusive STEM workshops by universities and work attachments or internships in the private or public sector.

C) National Elective Tamil Language Programme Scholarship (NETPS) (To encourage academically able and linguistically talented students who have already studied the relevant subject up to O-Level to pursue the subject at H2 level under the Language Elective Programme.)
Please approach Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre (UPTLC) for the programme and scholarship information.
Eligibility:
i) Singapore Citizen
ii) Have done consistently well in school and have obtained outstanding overall results in the GCE O-Level Examinations
iii) At least an A2 in Tamil, B3 in Higher Tamil OR B4 in Higher Tamil with B3 in Tamil Literature or equivalent
iv) Successfully admitted into UPTLC
v) Good record of co-curricular activities;
vi) Good conduct record;
vi) Must not be concurrent recipients of any other MOE scholarships except the Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools.
Terms and conditions:
Cash allowance of $1000
Remission of school fee at Singapore Citizens' rate, subject to annual cap of $2400
Tenable for 2 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance at JC1 and good conduct
Not required to enter into a bond to serve the Singapore Government
Compulsory to offer H2 Tamil Language and Literature and participate in Overseas Immersion Programme and other compulsory TLEP activities.
As part of the application, you are expected to write an essay of about 500 - 600 words about yourself (such as your key interests/motivations/aspirations) and your reasons for applying for this scholarship.
D) Language Elective Scholarship (French, German, Japanese & Spanish) (To encourage academically able and linguistically talented students who have already studied the relevant subject up to O-Level to pursue the subject at H2 level under the Language Elective Programme.)
Eligibility:
i) Singapore Citizen
ii) Have done consistently well in school and have obtained outstanding overall results in the GCE O-Level Examinations
iii) At least B3 in French / German / Japanese / Spanish
iv) Successfully admitted into MOE Language Centre (Bishan for French, German and Japanese; Newton for Spanish) to study the relevant language
v) Good record of co-curricular activities;
vi) Good conduct record;
vii) Must not be concurrent recipients of any other MOE scholarships except the Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools.

Remission of school fee at Singapore Citizens' rate, subject to annual cap of $2400
Tenable for 2 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance at JC1 and good conduct
