Let's Reduce Air-pollution & Carbon Emission!
To inspire Regenites to take action and care for our planet, our school kicked off an exciting 5-week adventure called RACE — Reduce our Air pollution and Carbon Emissions! With climate change becoming an ever-growing concern, this initiative gave everyone a chance to make a real difference. From lively class pitches led by our enthusiastic Environment Champions to the fun and meaningful Stridy Challenge, the whole school came together to take small steps toward a cleaner, greener future!

Regent Secondary School’s dedicated Environmental Champions took their preparation to the next level through hands-on technical training and dry runs to familiarise themselves with the STRIDY app. During these sessions, they explored the app’s features and practised guiding their classmates through the process. The Champions also collaborated across levels to troubleshoot potential challenges, ensuring they were well-equipped to lead their peers confidently in making every Stridy session smooth, efficient, and impactful!
Our journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle began with our dedicated Environment Champions passionately raising awareness of the need to reduce air pollution. They shared with their peers the alarming impact of climate change on our planet and how human activities continue to worsen its effects. Through their heartfelt advocacy, our Champions encouraged Regenites to embrace a greener lifestyle by taking simple, everyday actions—both at home and in school—such as recycling paper instead of disposing of it in garbage bins, to help reduce their carbon footprint.
At the same time, Regenites were introduced to “The Stridy Challenge”, which involves the use of the “STRIDY” mobile application to record the number of litter items collected and walking distance covered. With each walk and every item picked, students could log their finds — from cigarette butts and cans to plastic bottles and tissue paper — turning small actions into big change. Through the app, Regenites could see the amazing impact they were making together as a class, a school, and even as part of a nationwide effort, proving that every step truly counts toward a cleaner, greener Singapore!
To create a healthy level of competition within the respective levels, classes were encouraged to catalogue their litter items and walking distance over a span of five weeks to clinch 2 coveted titles.
“The Litter Heroes” was awarded to the class that recorded the highest number of litter items picked, and “The Regent Walkers” was awarded to the class that recorded the longest walking distance covered. With the help and support of the Environment Champions and Form Teachers, Regenites rallied their classes to go on walks together. We are proud to present the winners of The Stridy Challenge! Congratulations to all the classes on their wonderful efforts to make a difference to our environment!
