At Regent, we seek to develop all students to be G.R.E.EN Advocates through our ALP programme.
Through Curriculum, students learn about the World Around Us, the effects of climate change and the importance of our natural resources such as water and our biodiversity. They also have opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through learning journies.
Students were then given various opportunities to learn by doing, such as through interdisciplinary projects, cohort VIA, SIL projects or inter-class competitions. Part of this is also through our ALP Key Events, namely Let's R.O.W!, Let's R.A.C.E! and Let's be G.R.E.EN! Find out more about these events through the sub-pages!
At our Campus, we try to practice sustainability through various efforts such as not having plastic at our canteens and use motion sensors lights and LED lights to reduce our electricity. We also practice water-saving actions through the use of half-flush and water-saving thimble. We also have our own little edible garden!
We would like to build a Culture of sustainable living through encouraging our students to practice the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle). We have also re-designed some spaces in school where students can play our interactive sustainable living game or learn facts about carbon footprint as they climb the stairs!
Ultimately, as GREEN Advocates, we hope the students continue to learn for life whether it's through exploration of post-secondary options or continuing to advocate for sustainability through their daily actions. A way is through Community partnerships, where we learn from the experts on one hand and give back to the community by sharing our knowledge on the other hand. Interested students can also sign up for Applied Learning Programmes (ApLM) @ Polytechnics/ITEs at Secondary 3.
