The Singapore Teaching Practices (STP)

Background

The Singapore Teaching Practice is a model that makes explicit how effective teaching and learning is achieved in Singapore schools.

The four core Teaching Processes at the heart of Pedagogical Practices (PP) make explicit what teachers put into practice and reflect on before, during and after their interaction with students in all learning contexts. When applying and reflecting on the four Teaching Processes, teachers can look into the corresponding 24 Teaching Areas with accompanying Teaching Actions or Considerations.

Drawing on the Singapore Teaching Practice (STP), the Professional Conversation Package (PCP) is a resource for schools to engage teachers in conversations to enhance their Teaching and Learning (T&L) practices.

All PCP can be obtained from the STP Wiki on OPAL2.0 (https://www.opal2.moe.edu.sg/csl/s/singapore-teaching-practice/wiki/page/view?title=PCP+and+STP+Workshop+Resources

SkillsFuture For Educators (SFEd)

What is SFEd?

SkillsFuture for Educators (SFEd) is a professional development (PD) roadmap which guides our teachers to focus their PD efforts in prioritised areas of practice.

SFEd is part of the evolution of our PD and it builds on existing frameworks and structures like Teacher Growth Model (TGM) and STP to support teachers. It is meant to be developmental in its use to support the continuing professional growth of our teachers.

SFEd will support our teachers to continually deepen their beliefs, better understand their students, and further strengthen their classroom practice to nurture future-ready learners.
