Theme: "From Joy of Learning to Lifelong Learning"
Teachers are familiar with the phrase Joy of Learning. It is proposed that fostering the joy of learning will cultivate students’ intrinsic motivation and enhance students’ enjoyment of attending school (Committee of Supply Debate 2017). Promoting students’ agency and autonomy is suggested as a means to achieve motivated students (Motivation in Educational Research Lab, NIE), which is aligned with one of the curricular shifts of looking at open-ended tasks for students in our new physics syllabus. Lifelong Learning entails continual individuals’ effort in the pursuit of skills mastery and the idea that learning no longer be limited to specific life periods.
The theme “From Joy of Learning to Lifelong Learning’ embodies our vision of nurturing students’ intrinsic motivation to learn, both within and beyond the classroom. This prepares them to adapt to the rapidly advancing technologies and global developments, enabling them to thrive in the future.
