To all staff ,
Dear colleagues,
We are living in times where the pace of events are moving fast and furious. So fast that today’s latest becomes obsolete tomorrow. Indeed, change is constant.
A motherhood statement perhaps but many will attest to its relevance in this day and age.
So, in educating today’s youth, we cannot afford to lose sight of our goal to prepare them for the global stage – to be creators, collaborators, communicators and problem solvers. Having said that, even the most promising efforts to transform classroom applications and pedagogical practices - despite interest, resources and outcomes - we can fail to sustain them over time because of the frequently encountered challenge of “Not enough time”. Conversely, the lack of control over the time available lies a golden opportunity for us to reframe how we embrace innovations and learning initiatives. This year’s HBL Day/ICT Bootcamp is one such move to build learning capabilities collectively on a digital platform. While there were instances of hiccups and unforeseen bottlenecks, I believe everyone had a taste of what it takes to conceptualise and organise such learning trails. For the ICT Department/Team, it had been a steep learning curve for us all these years. Yet, we press on and continue to explore opportunities for innovation. In the long run, we hope to activate self-energising commitment and energy in what we do as educators.
Finally, I would like to make mention of the teachers in the ICT Team who have unhesitatingly forgone their rest and tirelessly worked round the clock to make this experience an enriching one. To all of you, thank you for your unwavering support!
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
