Revised Downward Grade Mapping
Students can use grade mapping to aggregate scores across subjects offered at different subject levels for post-secondary progression.
JC/MI
Education in a junior college (JC) or Millennia Institute (MI) prepares students for the A-Level examinations or the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma at the end of the 2-year JC or 3-year MI course.
Learn about the aggregate score computation, grade requirements for specific subjects, bonus points etc. for the JC/MI pathway.
Polytechnic Year 1
Polytechnics provide hands-on, practice-based learning experience within a dynamic and progressive learning environment. Work attachments with industry partners, which ranges from 6 weeks to 6 months, are also offered as part of the curriculum.
Polytechnic graduates who wish to further their studies may be considered for admission to universities based on their diploma qualifications.
Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP)
A one-year programme that offers a practice-oriented curriculum to better prepare polytechnic-bound Sec 4 students for entry into a polytechnic diploma.
Arts Institutions – NAFA/LASALLE
Students with the aptitude and interest to pursue the creative arts at the tertiary level may apply for diploma programmes at the Arts Institutions (AIs).
NAFA Foundation Programme (NFP)
A one-year practice-based programme that prepares Sec 4 students to pursue a diploma in the creative arts. NFP students who successfully complete the programme will be offered a place in their chosen diploma course at NAFA.
5th Year
5th year of secondary education allows eligible students to pace their learning and possibly offer subjects at a more demanding level to access more post-secondary pathways.
ITE Year 2 of 3-Year Higher Nitec
The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) offers career and technical education for secondary school graduates through Higher Nitec courses.
Starting from the Academic Year 2028, the admission requirements for direct entry into 2-year Higher Nitec courses will be set at G2.
ITE Year 1 of 3-Year Higher Nitec
The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) offers career and technical education for secondary school graduates through Higher Nitec courses.
Starting from the Academic Year 2028, the admission requirements for entry to 3-year Higher Nitec courses will be set at G1.
