My interest in photography started in 2013 when I bought a small compact camera. That camera was palm-sized and could fit easily in the pocket of my trousers or the front compartment of my backpack.
As such I brought it with me everywhere. At first, I used the camera mainly on Auto mode. It mostly worked fine but sometimes under less than ideal lighting conditions the photos came out poorly exposed. This led me to explore taking photos by adjusting the camera settings manually. There was really so much to learn and over time I was able to dictate the output I could get from the camera more predictably. This made me become a more confident photography knowing that I could get a well exposed photo regardless of the lighting conditions.
To keep my interest going, I started some personal projects like capturing photos in black and white, doing long exposure photography etc. And at one point, I even had my camera modified such that it recorded infrared photos instead of photos in the normal light spectrum. You can see some of those photos below.
