I stumbled upon a 3D printing YouTube video a few months ago and was amazed at what 3D printers can do. The intricate details on the prints were just incredible. I checked with the home boss and tried to sell my idea of buying a 3D printer that would take up space at home. Thankfully, I got the green light and pulled the trigger on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini. (P.S. if you have intentions to get one, get the Bambu Lab A1 instead! 😉)
Ever since I received the shipment, printing has been as simple as clicking a button. Items are done in under an hour for small prints to over 10 hours for large, intricate projects. So far, it has been great learning how to make minor tweaks here and there to ensure prints go smoothly. Although sometimes things get a little messy, and the printer churns out a ball of plastic mess. After some research, I've learned that the first few layers of printing are the most important! Making sure that the layer adheres to the printing surface is key.
With the large repository of designs available online, printing is just one click away! Since then, I've been printing home decor, toys, biology learning models, and spare parts for self-fix projects at home. Check out some of the items I've printed.
My BFF - Arthur!
I printed my own desk organisers (for my messy desk!) such as laptop holder and pot-it notes container.
Rex - My desk buddy. He is always making sure that I do my work!
The journey thus far has been exciting! My kids enjoy it the most, printing different toys, handicrafts, and building projects to keep them busy.
Pokeball, anyone?
