The Programme for Active Learning (PAL) provides our Primary 1 and Primary 2 pupils with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support their holistic development beyond the classroom. Through meaningful activities, pupils develop confidence, build positive relationships, and strengthen important social-emotional competencies while nurturing Emerging 21st Century Competencies (E21CC) such as communication, collaboration and adaptive thinking.
ICT PAL Lessons
Pupils learn about Cyber Wellness and responsible online behaviour, build confidence in using digital tools such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and are introduced to computational thinking through basic coding activities using the VEX 123 Robot. These experiences help pupils become responsible, confident and creative users of technology.
Home Skills Programme
Pupils develop practical life skills through hands-on experiences such as tying their own shoelaces, folding clothes, and preparing simple meals like cheesy tuna wraps and sandwiches, pupils build confidence in caring for themselves. They are also introduced to basic concepts of financial literacy, learning to appreciate the value of money through authentic, everyday contexts.
English Speech and Drama PAL Lessons
Through stories, role-play and drama activities, pupils strengthen their communication skills and develop greater confidence in self-expression. They learn to speak clearly and expressively, work collaboratively to prepare class drama performances, and build active listening and perspective-taking skills.
Heritage PAL Lessons
Through interactive exhibits and hands-on experiences, pupils discover the rich history of Fuchun Primary School and the Woodlands community, fostering a sense of identity and belonging.
