Here at Cedar, we believe in the holistic development of all Cedarians through our total curriculum. Our various departments focus on building a strong foundation through our core curriculum, where we develop our students' cognitive and academic domains.

The Cedar Aesthetics experience, comprising of the Arts (Food and Consumer Education, Design and Technology) and Performing Arts (Art and Music) curricula, are tailored to provide hands-on and blended learning opportunities for Cedarians to Appreciate, Express and Compose/Create works through the exploration of mixed media, forms and the affordance of technology. We enjoy signature programmes such as iBand projects, Spice it up! Elective and Robotics that cultivate creativity, innovation and practical life skills.

To develop Leaders of Character, our Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) programme holistically inculcates the desired values, attributes and competencies in Cedarians through the Head, Heart and Hands approach. School leaders, teachers and students work together to build a community that supports and challenges each other, thereby bringing out the best in each other. In doing so, we shape Cedarians into the ethical and public-spirited citizens of tomorrow.

Learning English Language and Literature empowers Cedarians to sense-make our experiences and express ourselves. The social constructivist curriculum approach, thinking strategies and active skills-based learning experiences are tools for discovery, helping Cedarians adapt and become confident and effective users of English, with the power to be change agents in this increasingly complex world.

The aim of Humanities education in Cedar is to nurture in Cedarians a passion for the Humanities. We equip Cedarians with the skills and dispositions of a Geographer and a Historian, such as collaboration, critical thinking and communication. In mastering these skills, together with the ability to harness Technology, Cedarians will become critically equipped to thrive in the 21st century.

Our mission is to develop character and leadership of students through the active pursuit of excellence in physical sports, physical health, aesthetics and recreational games, as well as outdoor activities. Our array of PE programmes promote and engage students in leading a healthy and active lifestyle, even as they develop their competence in physical sports and passion for active learning in health and outdoor education.

Learning the Sciences in Cedar means plenty of experiential opportunities for Cedarians to be passionate, self-directed learners. The Science curriculum develops our scientific thinking and reasoning skills, stretching our abilities and interest in science through independent experimental design in a bold, student-centered environment. In this way, we strengthen our passion for the Sciences and the world.

Mathematics engage Cedarians’ intellectual competence in logical reasoning, spatial visualisation, analysis and abstract thought. We learn to recognise and appreciate conceptual links, within and between Mathematics and other disciplines, as well as its relevance in real-life situations. We train to be creative thinkers and problem solvers of authentic real world problems, skills highly valued in the 21st century.

Our Mother Tongue Programme aims to develop Cedarians into proficient language users who can communicate, appreciate our culture, and establish connections with other communities in Asia and beyond. By understanding and applying concepts and principles through fun, authentic tasks, Cedarians gain a better understanding of our strengths and values, while the use of ICT also supports our self-directed and collaborative learning.

Here in Cedar, students who are enrolled will have the opportunity to develop their 21st century competencies through our unique school-based enrichment curriculum. We recognise that the world our students will live in will look vastly different from what we know today. Thus, we wish to equip them both with the capacity and competencies to deal with a changing world.

This unique school-based enrichment is offered to all Cedarians, where they are given an authentic real-life learning experience to innovate and address the social issues of the world today. Through the use of the design thinking framework, students are guided on systematic approach to generate novel solutions to social issues. To ground their solutions in reality, students are taught key research skills and data analysis methods that would help them to develop solutions that are meaningful and implementable.

Through our unique school-based enrichment for all students, Cedarians have a chance to learn from industry players out there. Here is a glimpse of how Cedar partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as part of its SIR experience to empower our girls with the skills to harness technology to solve problems.
