Personal Learning Device (PLD)
Our Journey
Apple iPad is our school-prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD).
The iPad (9th gen or 10th gen for AY2023) will come bundled with a stylus (Apple Pencil) and keyboard (Logitech Rugged Combo 3).
Piloting iPad 2020
We piloted the use of iPad for teaching and learning with a Sec 1 class for a Term in AY2020, where iPads were loaned to students for the Term.
Blended learning, self-directed and collaborative learning with iPad was a regular feature in every lessons for the class.
PLD Rollout 2021
We rolled out PDLP to our Sec 1 to 3 students in August AY2021.
Students apply Digital Literacy skills (curate, connect and create) and learn with technology in a technology-enabled environment.

New Media Literacies (NML) are defined as the competencies to create, connect and curate information in the digital networked environment. Students will learn NML skills to navigate the online space confidently, and use technology healthily.
Curate digital content and information
Students manage information across modes and move seamlessly through various sources.
Search & Organisation
Students apply digital tools to locate, collect and sort information for present and future use in a principled manner.
Evaluation
Students navigate within and across digital sources to check and make judgement on the quality and usefulness of the information for decision making or problem solving.
Create Digital Multimodal Products
Students use digital creation tools to craft, modify and combine different modes of information for personal or group expression.
Connect and Communicate Digitally
Students use digital communication tools to participate in the exchange and synthesis of information or ideas online.
