DSA Overview & Application Timeline
Direct School Admission for junior colleges (DSA-JC) allows students to apply to a DSA school before taking the GCE O-Level examinations.
A student can apply based on a talent area in sports, CCAs and specific academic areas that may not be demonstrated at the O-Level examinations.
Browse this page to find out more about the DSA-JC process.
DSA-JC Application Links
Students are typically asked to go for a trial, audition and/or an interview related to the talent area applied for as part of the DSA-JC application process.
As the talent areas and selection criteria for each talent area differs from college to college, students are advised to check individual JC's DSA websites for specific details before starting the application process.
DSA-JC FAQ
My academic results are not strong, will this affect my DSA-JC chances?
You will need to meet the Eligibility Criteria of L1R5 ≤ 20 (L1R4 ≤ 16 from AY2028) & the subject requirements of Express EL, MA and MT (G3 level from AY 2028).
JCs may still consider your academic results to assess good academic fit for the school. You should consider if you are able to cope with the academic rigour of the A level syllabus plus the DSA Talent area commitment (e.g. Competition / trainings/ events)
You will need to sit for the A level examinations after 2 years of study. If your A level results, do not qualify for a local, Autonomous University, you might need to consider a polytechnic diploma, a private local or overseas university or re-taking the A levels as a private candidate.
Can I participate in both DSA-JC & Early Admission Exercise (EAE)?
You can participate in the DSA-JC and EAE concurrently. However, you can only accept one offer (i.e. either a DSA-JC or EAE offer).
Students who accept both DSA-JC and EAE offers will be disqualified from both exercises, unless they cancel either of these acceptances before the end of the Acceptance Stage.
If I have turned down the DSA-JC Phase 1 offer from one school, can I reconsider and take up their offer again in Phase 2?
Once you have rejected a DSA-JC offer from one school, you will not be given another DSA-JC offer from the same school.
What should I do to cancel or withdraw my DSA-JC acceptance?
If you want to cancel or withdraw your DSA-JC acceptance, you must:
Get a softcopy of the cancellation form from the DSA school which you have accepted the offer.
Email the completed cancellation form back to the same school.
The DSA school will notify you on the outcome of your cancellation request via email.
