Every year, the Arts cohort in Anderson Serangoon Junior College gathers as a community during the Arts Symposium to celebrate the inherent richness in the Arts and Humanities. The Arts Symposium serves as a platform to explore and depend our understanding on various local and global issues through the critical lens.

The theme TURBULENCE was thoroughly investigated by our JC2 student facilitators, where each group focused on one domain:

• Inner Turbulence (labels, self-identity and self-policing)

• Career Turbulence (rise of freelancers, job/industry displacement, fall of traditional media news outlets)

• Cultural Turbulence (changes in communication, architecture, art)

• Political Turbulence (political extremism, disinformation, deepfakes)

These issues were explored deeply and translated to a meaningful and engaging learning experience for our JC1 Arts students and secondary school students from CHIJ SJC and Deyi Secondary.
