Produce a professional portfolio that critically evaluates the effectiveness of the current Year 4 ESL curriculum and textbook.
2. Your portfolio must be structured in accordance with the Year 4 ESL curriculum and textbook. The portfolio should address the following three sections:
a. Part 1: Curriculum Development and Adaptation
Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of this curriculum and textbook in meeting the needs of your chosen context. Justify your judgments based on established principles of curriculum design, such as needs analysis, authenticity, and student-centeredness.
b. Part 2: Textbook and Materials Evaluation
Select the Year 4 core textbook used to teach the adapted curriculum. Evaluate the suitability of these materials for your specific context.
c. Part 3: Curriculum Suggestion and Reflection
Propose a supplementary curriculum, using the Model selected in Task 1, to improve the weaknesses highlighted in your evaluation of the Year 4 ESL curriculum and textbook.
3. Your portfolio should contain the following elements;
a. Cover page
b. Content Page
c. Part 1: Curriculum Development and Adaptation
– a short evaluative essay (about 100 words) on curriculum supported with a sample of the Year 4 ESL DSKP, SOW and related documents.
d. Part 2: Textbook and Materials Evaluation
– a short evaluative essay (about 100 words) supported with a sample of Year 4 textbook. It’s sufficient to attach only the aspects considered in your evaluation.
e. Part 3: Curriculum Suggestion and Reflection
