I am a passionate teacher who has been teaching since 2004. Currently serving at SJK (C) Pei Chai, I truly enjoy working with children and helping them learn and grow. Teaching is more than a job—it’s a journey I take together with my students. I believe the flipped classroom is a powerful approach that transforms the way students learn. By moving direct instruction outside of class, students have the opportunity to explore new material at their own pace, whenever and wherever they are comfortable. This encourages independence, responsibility, and a deeper connection with the content.
In the classroom, time is used more meaningfully — for collaboration, critical thinking, and real-time support. I see the teacher’s role evolving from a lecturer to a facilitator, guiding learners as they apply knowledge through discussion, hands-on tasks, and problem-solving.
The flipped model also helps cater to diverse learning needs. Some students need to replay or pause explanations, while others are ready to move ahead. The flexibility it offers can boost confidence and engagement.
Overall, I believe the flipped classroom nurtures more active, curious, and self-directed learners — and that’s what 21st-century education should strive for.
I hope this course will deepen my understanding of innovative teaching strategies, especially the flipped classroom model. I expect to learn practical ways to design engaging pre-class materials and meaningful in-class activities that promote active learning. I also look forward to exploring tools and platforms that support this approach. By the end of the course, I aim to feel more confident in applying flipped learning in my own classroom. I hope to connect with fellow educators, share ideas, and gain insights from their experiences. Ultimately, I want to enhance student engagement, independence, and learning outcomes through effective implementation.
