This programme aligns with the seventh strategy under the Policy to Uphold the Malay Language and Strengthen the English Language (MBMMBI). Public speaking plays a vital role in building students' confidence and fluency in English while simultaneously enhancing their proficiency. It serves as a powerful means of conveying ideas, reasoning through concepts, and delivering clear, concise explanations.
An effective speech is one that is delivered with ease and incorporates elements such as advice, reminders, emphasis, satire, and humour to engage and influence the audience. The 3-minute speech, in particular, is designed to foster public speaking skills and to inspire students to confidently express their thoughts and ideas.
Develop communication skills by uncovering students' talents and creativity in delivering speeches naturally and confidently.
Enhance knowledge by encouraging students to read and engage with academic works.
Build self-confidence, foster perseverance, and create a competitive spirit among students.
Improve language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Strengthen values and ethics by teaching students to consider important issues, take a stance, and support their views with strong evidence and reasoning.
All school students from Year 1 to Form Six, including students with special needs (MBK) and IPGK Undergraduates under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM).
