Join me on an exciting journey as I explore the intricacies of implementing flipped learning in the classroom. Through multimedia elements like videos, images, and written reflections, you'll gain insights into the challenges and successes I encountered along the way. Witness firsthand the evolution of my pedagogical practice, and learn how I transformed my teaching style to better engage and inspire my students.
As someone who has been teaching and learning for the past 19 years, I always incorporate educational technologies into my teaching and learning methods. I understand that the pace of technological advancement is rapid, but as a teacher, I am committed to keeping up with the changes. For me, pedagogy always comes first, and technology comes second. Sometimes, circumstances may not allow me to use technology, but I see it as a challenge to think of alternative ways to ensure that my students receive the best possible learning experience.
Yes, it is crucial to understand that incorporating technology into education is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Its impact on student learning experiences can vary depending on various factors such as instructional goals, student demographics, and available resources. As a teacher who is dedicated to providing my students with the best possible learning experience, I understand the significance of balancing pedagogy and technology integration. It is important to ensure that technology serves to enhance rather than detract from the learning process. Ultimately, the thoughtful integration of technology in alignment with pedagogical goals can maximise student engagement, comprehension, and achievement.
Flipped classroom is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional. It creates learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom. A typical example of a flipped class is one in which the instructor pre-records the lectures, posts the recordings to Canvas for students to watch before class, and then assists the students as they work through assignments during class time. Students learn at their own pace at home or outside class, while in-class activities deepen students' understanding.
A day before the lesson, the teacher posted a video that related to the topic via telegram class group. Teacher assigned the students to watch and listen carefully to the video at home using their own gadgets. Students make notes and identify the main ideas of the video.
During class, teacher gets the students to talk what's the video all about. Students discuss the answers of the questions given among themselves. The teacher monitors students' activity and give feedback or comments when needed. During class, we focus on speaking practice and group discussion.
