Brief Overview

There are 2 subtopics in this chapter:
i) Numerical solution of equations
ii) Newton-Raphson method

Firstly you will learn how to locate approximately a root of equation. You can do this by using the graphical or algebraic method. This will be useful as you will need to approximate an initial value for the next subtopic, which is newton-raphson.

Newton-Raphson is an iteration method to find the root of an equation. Pay attention to the decimal places and significant figures. Make sure you dont mix them up! To cut the time, you will need to understand how to use your calculator wisely!
