In ensuring better students' outcomes, partnership between schools, parents and communities are crucial in accelerating English proficiency amongst Malaysian students. The outreach activities focus on creating linkages and networking opportunities with the community, parents, retired educators, universities, other non-governmental organisations, and corporate bodies that support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects. These skateholders assist schools in implementing HIP activities in terms of expertise and sponsorship. Sound partnerships between parents and communities have been proven to elevate the development of English proficiency beyond the school environment.
With collaboration from University Malaysia Sarawak Gamification Centre, SJK Chung Hua No 5 Kuching has successfully organised an interesting gamification in STEM (Teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics ) workshop for 60 students on 30th November 2022, Wednesday. A team of lecturers comprising Dr Jacey-Lynn Minoi, Dr Tan Chong Eng, Dr Leonard Lim and Dr Jaya Laxshmi have taught the students on skills on team work, time management, cooperation to adapt to many challenges that they could face everyday. Besides that, the students can also explore about applying materials and learning STEM in a fun way.
The pupils find the workshop fun because they can challenge themselves to make items out of anything that they can find and make it work.

This activity could let the students understand the Japanese culture and it is also one of the ways to learn English in a meaningful and collaborative method. They taught the students simple Japanese language, songs, origami and traditional games.
Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) hosted the second Gamification in Learning Seminar on the 5th of December 2019 at MyCapsule Space, the first Gamification Lab in Malaysia. The seminar presents research findings and outcomes from a two-year international collaboration between UNIMAS (CreativeCulture) and Coventry University, UK.
Our students are indeed very lucky to do their presentation on a Gamification project on Climate Change as well as their Digital Animated Storytelling.

This program provides a chance for the students to learn how to communicate and also one of the ways to nurture their inner abilities. Besides, students can learn leadership which could help them to sharp their future. Students can educate themselves about the various cultural diversities of other countries. They can also produce a sense of amity among the students.
Working together with parents and communities will help schools to evaluate and identify areas that they would like to focus on in creating an immersive environment in the school.
