In this video, I share how to set up the classroom to help students learn efficient routines in a blended, self-paced, mastery-based classroom. The physical space plays an essential role in facilitating self-paced and mastery-based grading. Flexible seating helps students choose areas where they learn best. For example, students can be seen playing math games on the floor or using comfortable seating options such as bean bags or wobble cushions. They can also easily access materials and mastery checks as they collaborate with classmates, track their progress, and master lesson objectives.
