I use many different formats for designing videos, the easiest being to annotate directly on a PDF of my guided notes. I find that the most engaging videos though I will design with pre-typed out text that is animated, which is the method that I used for this video. Since my district uses Apple products, I used KeyNote to design and animate these slides.
At the beginning of each unit, students will receive a notes packet with all guided notes to make it super easy for them to stay organized. Most definitions will already be written out, but the main thing for students to take notes on is the work for each problem. I also like to use EdPuzzle to embed quick checks for understanding.
I always like to use problems from resources that I already have access to (textbook, Kuta, etc.) so that I’m not reinventing the wheel. However, I typically like to add a few extra problems which is why I do create my own worksheet. This also allows me to give students a practice packet at the beginning of each unit to again allow all students to easily stay organized.
Students all have an individual copy of their own tracker. This allows them to check off each item as they move along. In that tracker, you will see a link to my Playlist that I post on Google Classroom (my Learning Management System).
I also use a public tracker (either physical magnets or a version of the MCP Auto-Updating Tracker) that really motivates students.
