Distinguished Modern Classroom Educators (DMCEs) implement blended, self-paced, mastery-based instruction in their own communities.  They join our community of innovative educators worldwide, and receive:

★ Public Recognition: we share their achievement with their administrators and colleagues

All DMCEs are eligible to become Expert Mentors, who earn competitive compensation across a variety of teacher leadership activities.

We accept applications on a rolling basis.  Once received, applicants can expect to receive a decision on the application's status within one month.

There is no requirement that an educator use our model for any particular length of time before applying.  In the spirit of mastery, we look at how effectively educators implement (or support) Modern Classroom instruction, not how long they have been doing it.

There is no requirement that an educator must complete the Virtual Mentorship Program before applying.  We have seen successful DMCE applicants who have completed the Free Essentials Course or otherwise used blended, self-paced, mastery-based practices for years prior to applying, and others who are just a few months in.

In return for educators' commitment to implementation, we promise to:

★ Inform educators of our programming and what it entails: Before applying, we share details about the Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator credentialing process through a comprehensive webpage, offer informational sessions, and empower educators to determine their readiness to apply. 

★ Offer targeted and specific support: Applicants have an opportunity to receive one-on-one application support and join DMCE Intensives offered throughout the year.

★ Respond to Applicant Inquiries: Applicants may email credentials@modernclassrooms.org at any time for general support.  MCP will respond within 1 - 2 business days.

The Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator (DMCE) credential is the entry point to the Leadership Pathway.  As a DMCE, educators become eligible for various leadership opportunities, paid and unpaid.
