Professional Development Efforts with Awards:
- Course Redesign Program and QM Certification for SOCW 5223 (Theories of Aging and Development): I converted the face-to-face course to the Hybrid format. I have taught the course in hybrid format twice and incorporated the changes into the course materials based upon student's feedback. I submitted it for a formal QM review and got the certification of QM for the course (with the award of $2000).(Certification confirmation email was attached below)
- Affordable Course Materials Initiative (ACMI): To decrease the costs for students, I submitted a proposal to be a part of the 2022-2023 Cohort of the UTC Library’s Affordable Course Materials Initiative (ACMI) for BSW course SCOW 4760 and rejoin the 2023-2024 Cohort for the MSW course SOCW 5350. I worked with UTC Library faculty on the inclusion of no- or low-cost materials as required or supplemental course texts (with the award of $500 as an incentive). (Award letters were attached below)
- Faculty Fellows in Teaching Innovation: Transparency in Learning and Teaching Model (TILT)
To improve my design of the courses, I joined a faculty fellow workgroup on applying the Transparency in Learning and Teaching Model (TILT) into the courses that I was teaching on Fall 2023. For this workgroup, we meet monthly, discuss the TILT model and revise several course assignments (with the award of stipend of $1000).
- Accessibility in UTC Learn Contest: To increase the accessibility of my course materials, I participated in the second annual "Accessibility in UTC Learn contest" and won the first-place award ($50).
