Members of the Holland FFA Chapter showcased their skills and leadership from Sunday, April 13, through Tuesday, April 15, at the 97th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference held in Ames. The chapter was well-represented in various competitive events, leadership activities, and statewide recognitions throughout the event.
The Parliamentary Procedure team — Rebecca Bos, Kelsey Oolman, Allison Heller, Marnie Croatt, and Kienna Lassen — earned a gold rating and secured a spot at Nationals.
Lily Moeller also advanced to Nationals after an impressive showing in the Prepared Public Speaking event.
The Ag Issues and Perceptions team, made up of Addison Den Ouden, Alyson Leusink, and Braelynn Den Ouden, placed fourth overall.
Alyson Leusink and Mikayla Meyer represented Holland FFA as Delegates during the Business Session.
In the Poultry Evaluation contest, Samuel Van Klompenburg, Peter Bos, Cody Hansen, and Heydan Hiemstra received a bronze award.
Ryker Slemp also earned a bronze rating in the Discovery Test.
Dana Hansen brought home gold in the Greenhand Quiz, while Dolidh Moffitt earned bronze.
The Farm Business Management team — Jaelyn Dau, Keegan Van Wyk, Aiden Gebhard, and Philip Monroe — achieved a team gold rating.
JJ Hawkins had the honor of Massing the Flag and pinning the Iowa Flag at the ceremony’s conclusion.
Highlighting the chapter, Jaelyn Dau and Keegan Van Wyk gave an outstanding performance as members of the State FFA Choir.
Leadership activities were attended by Bryaden Oolman and Aric Massen.
Marnie Croatt, Lily Moeller, and Rebecca Bos were recognized for their achievements in State Nursery Landscaping.
Additionally, Lily Moeller earned first place for her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project.
A major milestone was reached as seven members received their Iowa FFA Degree: Mikayla Meyer, Marnie Croatt, Lily Moeller, Alyson Leusink, Rebecca Bos, Kienna Lassen, and Gerrit Hulstein.
The Holland FFA Chapter extends its heartfelt gratitude to Advisor Molly Cleveringa, Assistant Advisor Mike Moeller, Coach Marie Moller, and chaperone Kristi Meyer for their guidance and support. The chapter celebrates a successful convention and is incredibly proud of the hard work and accomplishments of all its members.
