Hello! I am Mr. Acosta (Mr. A), and I am fortunate to be your CORE 1 English teacher! I graduated from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa with a Bachelor's in Secondary Education with a focus on English.

When I'm not spending time with friends and family on my free time, I would typically be watching competition shows or anime. This would be my second year teaching at Moanalua High School (since 2020), and I am looking forward to building relationships with you all!

The concept of intellectual safety is deeply rooted in my teaching where I strive for a learning environment where all members feel able and willing to express their thoughts and questions without the fear of being judged or looked down upon. In my classroom, you will also find that learning will happen as a community in which all members are active participants.
