Boiler Plant and Hot Water Distribution Replacement:
Replace existing steam boiler, steam to hot water heat exchanger, and hot water distribution with new hot water condensing boilers and hot water distribution piping to improve system reliability and energy efficiency.
Air Handling Unit Replacements:
The kitchen hood will be replaced with a new rooftop make-up air unit and kitchen hood to provide required heating, cooling, and ventilation, as well as improved system reliability and space temperature control.
Rooftop Unit Installation:
Air handling unit S-2 serving the gym and band room, as well as the office air handling unit will be replaced with new high efficiency roof top units to provide required heating, cooling, and ventilation, as well as improved system reliability and space temperature control.
Classroom Ventilation Improvements:
New vertical unit ventilators will be installed in the classrooms to replace the existing horizontal unit ventilators. The new vertical unit ventilators will provide required heating, cooling, and ventilation, as well as improved system reliability and space temperature control.
Domestic Hot Water Distribution System Replacement:
Abandon original 1965 and 1970 domestic hot water piping (located in tunnels beneath the building) with new domestic hot water piping to improve water quality and prevent leaks. This piping will be located above the ceilings in the hallways to greatly improve serviceability of the new system.
Energy Management and Direct Digital Controls Replacement:
Replace existing pneumatic controls with a new direct digital controls energy management system to implement modern controls sequences for improved building comfort, energy efficiency, and individual space temperature control.
Electrical Improvements:
Replace the old main electrical service, switchgear, and distribution with new equipment to meet NEC standards, present loads, and anticipated future electrical needs.
Asbestos Abatement:
Abate existing asbestos flooring, ceiling, and affected boiler room insulation to improve the health and safety of the building.
LED Lighting:
Lighting retrofit to LED technology where remaining.
Fire Alarm System/Fire Suppression Sprinklers:
Replace the fire alarm system with a new voice annunciated, addressable system and install fire suppression sprinklers throughout the facility to provide better protection and to meet current code.
Interior Finishes:
Replace flooring and ceiling systems in select areas throughout the facility.
Secure Entry Improvements:
Secure front entrance vestibule and offices. A pass-thru entry system in which visitors enter the vestibule and then buzz for entrance into the buildings main office reception area. Visitors check in at the reception desk for admittance into the building.
Add Walls and Doors at Classrooms:
Current building has an open floor plan and acoustics create a challenging learning environment. Adding walls and doors will help reduce noise and distractions while enhancing safety and security within the existing open floor plan.
Music Room Updates:
Lower Music Room/Stage floor and match adjacent floor level to make the space accessible. Add permanent wall to divide music room from cafeteria/gymnasium for improved acoustics.
Media Center Updates:
Media center is recessed and not currently accessible. Infill recess and pour new floor to match adjacent to create an accessible, flexible media center.
ADA Restroom Improvements:
Update and reconfigure restrooms to make them ADA compliant. Updates to include new fixtures and finishes.
Boiler Plant and Hot Water Distribution Replacement:
Replace existing (2) steam boilers, steam to hot water heat exchanger, and hot water distribution with new hot water condensing boilers and hot water distribution piping to improve system reliability and energy efficiency.
Air Handling Unit Replacements:
The east and west gym air handling units will be replaced with new air handling units to provide required heating, cooling, and ventilation, as well as improved system reliability and space temperature control.
Rooftop Unit Replacement:
The kitchen make-up air unit and hood, as well as the office and computer lab rooftop units will be replaced with a new rooftop units and rooftop make-up air unit and kitchen hood to provide required heating, cooling, and ventilation, as well as improved system reliability and space temperature control.
Rooftop Unit Installation:
New high efficiency roof top units will be installed in the ag shop, CTE shop, band rooms, and practice rooms to replace the existing unit ventilators. The new roof top units will provide required heating, cooling, and ventilation, as well as improved system reliability and space temperature control.
Roof Replacement:
All roof sections will be replaced with new membrane roofing. This will improve the building’s thermal efficiency and moisture control, protecting the school from water damage.
Abandon original 1956 and 1959 domestic hot water piping (located in tunnels beneath the building) with new domestic hot water piping to improve water quality and prevent leaks.

Fire Alarm System/Fire Suppression Sprinklers:
Replace the fire alarm system with a new voice annunciated, addressable system and install fire suppression sprinklers throughout the facility to provide better protection and to meet current code.
Interior Finishes:
Replace flooring and ceiling systems in select areas throughout the facility.
CTE (Career & Tech Ed), Locker Room, Fitness Room Addition:
A new CTE/Ag/multi-use lab will be added to support current and future programming needs, and existing shop areas will be renovated with modern equipment and safety features to support hands-on learning. The improved space will not only benefit students but could also serve as a resource for community education, skills training, and local partnerships.
Locker room and fitness room are currently in the lower level that is not accessible. New spaces to be added at grade level and to be accessible for all students.
The addition to be constructed as an ICC 500 compliant storm shelter.
CTE Renovations:
Renovate existing shop spaces to support current programing needs. Scope to include updated finishes, casework, equipment, furniture, as well as upgrades to electrical distribution, dust collection and welding hoods. Transparency and connectivity will be the focus while also providing safety and separation.
Music Room Renovation:
The music room must currently be accessed up a flight of stairs and has fixed tiered risers. Project scope includes demo of floor and creating an accessible space with greater volume and improved acoustics. Scope also includes infill and abandoning of small lower-level space that is inaccessible.
ADA Restroom Improvements:
Update and reconfigure restrooms to make them ADA compliant. Updates to include new fixtures and finishes.
