Langston Hughes is one of America’s most celebrated poets. He developed his own unique voice in his thoughtful portrayal of Black life from the 1920s to 1960s. Develop your own voice as an author or poet by journaling or writing a poem. Here are some questions to get you started:

What obstacles have you overcome in life?
What do you feel strongly about?
