The ACT and SAT are considered college entrance exams are used by colleges and universities across the nation to determine admittance. Most students in the Midwest will take the ACT at least once. Institutions do not have a preference for which exam you take and will accept either an ACT or SAT score report. MSA will offer a free ACT test to 11th grade students each year- no registration is required for this test date. If you are looking to take either the ACT or SAT outside of MSA, you will need to register for the test through ACT or Collegeboard directly. Most students will take the ACT for the first time in 11th grade. It is typically encouraged that students have an ACT/SAT score report ready to send to colleges by the start of their 12th grade year.
