August 26, 2024
As the first day of school has come and gone, I wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all of you for such a successful opening day! There were so many smiles and such positive energy by all! I also appreciate you all through your patience and cooperation as we work through the after-school plans and technology confusion that came with all of that!
I also wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and let you know how excited I am to be the new principal at UCS! I have been a lifelong educator. I grew up in St Albans, studied undergrad at St Mike's, and received my Masters at Uni. of Scranton. I live in the district with my wife Kandi, 3 boys: Jamison (10 yo), Carsen (8yo), Landon (3yo), dog (Judge) and we absolutely love being part of this community. This will be my 13th year in MMUUSD, as I was the Director of Student Activities at MMU for the previous 12 years. Before transitioning to administration, I worked as a Kindergarten teacher at Bakersfield Elementary School for 5 years.
UCS is a very special place. The staff has worked hard to be ready for to welcome everyone back for day 1 and I am so grateful to be part of a community that exudes so much love, kindness and dedication to the success and belief that all students can succeed. I had so much FUN welcoming all of your children back to school and look forward to learning with them this school year. I can't wait to see all of you at school events as we look to connect the community and school through our focus of community building and Bobcat PRIDE!
