Course Title: Crime Scene Investigation

Course Description: Learn the science behind fingerprints and how to solve a crime scene investigation. Students will get hands-on experience with a variety of forensic science techniques like searching for evidence, gathering clues, and discovering how science can solve a mystery! Activities include dusting for fingerprints, analyzing handwriting, learning about DNA, morse code and invisible ink. This course is much more than simple fingerprinting!

Course Description: Science camp offers students exciting and innovative ways to get hands-on experience integrating science, technology, and engineering (STEM) concepts. Students will explore basic concepts such as gravity, force and acceleration with the egg drop challenge. Students will design and build the tallest possible tower using nothing but paper and tape, with an added challenge. In addition, students will learn about the science behind bottle rockets. Get ready to put your building skills to the test!

Course Description: Do you enjoy being outside and learning about nature? Experience the beauty of Mountain Lakes by going on nature walks and identifying the flora and fauna around. Students will also be integrating art by making homemade paper and pressed flower bookmarks. Activities include bird watching, flower pressing, and identifying insects. Get ready to explore the great outdoors! 

Course Title: Kitchen Chemistry

Course Description: This course is a real sugar rush! Learn about the science behind kitchen chemistry experiments. Activities include making ice cream in a bag, rock candy, solar smores, extracting DNA out of strawberries, learning about hot ice, magic milk science experiment, and candy chromatography. Please let us know if there are any food allergies.

Course Description: Destination Imagination is a fantastic program that calls itself the "largest celebration of creativity in the world"! Students in this course will engage in a variety of STEAM based challenges based on the famed international competition. The students will learn collaboration, design principles, creativity and problem solving while having lots of hands-on fun!

Course Description: This LEGO enrichment class offers children the opportunity to explore their creativity and learn about architecture, engineering and design using Lego bricks.  Each child is given a building challenge that requires them to problem solve:  they plan, build, test, and evaluate.  The building sessions, activities, and challenges will include math with Legos, building and designing increasingly advanced mechanisms, and creating stories based on original designs. Children will improve their critical thinking skills, fine motor abilities, and develop team work and communication skills which they can apply in daily life.

Course Description: Students will review previously learned concepts from 1st grade while preparing for the jump to second grade. We will dive into reading, writing, and math skills that will benefit them from not only in second grade, but years to come! We will focus on various literacy strategies, proper writing techniques, and important skills for decoding tricky math word problems.

Course Description: Get ready, get on track, and get ahead with this class. Students will work on reading, writing and math to ensure their smooth transition into the next grade. Children will enhance their fluency and reading expression through reader’s theater while having fun! Math skills from the previous grade will be reviewed and upcoming skills will be introduced. Narrative, explanatory and opinion writing pieces will be developed as well! This course is designed to help your children retain what was already taught throughout the school year AND build additional skills for the fall.

Course Title: Jazz Workshop  (Enrichment)

Course Description: This one-week course/ensemble is designed for students entering grades 5 to 8. All instruments are welcome, but students must have one full year of experience on their instrument. This course will cover small group lessons, jazz history, jazz theory/improvisation, and full ensemble rehearsals. The program is intended to increase student confidence playing their instrument and knowledge about jazz history and improvisation.
