The Visual Arts Program has electives for everyone. You can advance in one area or experience a bit of many different modes of art. If you enjoy drawing or would be interested in painting, 2D Art is for you. Would you like to try your hand at sculpture, ceramics, or using new materials to create three-dimensional art? Then, 3D Art is your class. Are you interested in Digital Media or are you considering a career in Graphic Art? Digital Media and Design is a great introduction. Or are you just not sure which avenue of art is best, but you want to sharpen your creative skills? We’ve got a class for that as well: Foundations of Art. Take a look to see the work of MLHS student artists who have participated in our program. You can engage in art classes every year, and even progress to Portfolio Development Honors and AP Studio Art in your final years of high school. Whether you think of yourself as an artist or not, our Art Program provides a way for you to exercise your creativity. Colleges love to see a portfolio of your creative products in addition to your academic record.
