More Light Presbyterians

Get Involved

Welcome! We are happy to announce there are now several ways to get involved with More Light Presbyterians! Whether you are new to MLP or have been a member/supporter for some time, we’d love to build community together.

We’d love for you and/or your congregation, campus ministry, or ministry context to get involved as we live into our mission statement:

“More Light Presbyterian's mission is to center and celebrate the lives, gifts, and leadership of LGBTQIA+ people in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and beyond. We accomplish this by igniting the prophetic witness of our ministry partners and by cultivating relationships rooted in mutual accountability and care. Together, we journey toward God's promised liberation and flourishing for all creation”

Next Steps

We hope the process for discernment around becoming More Light will be fruitful for individuals and your group as a whole, and we recognize not everyone will be in the same place in their journey toward LGBTQIA+ inclusion. With that in mind, we are always happy to talk with you about the process, so feel free to contact us if you have ANY questions!

Request a Visit if you would like to have a More Light staff person, board member, or MLP board alumni to visit your ministry setting to preach, or lead a class or workshop. This is a great option for those who are still discerning joining MLP
To become a More Light Church or Ministry Setting (including campus groups and New Worshipping Communities), your session, or group leadership will need to formally vote to endorse the mission statement of More Light Presbyterians.
Once submitted, an MLP staff member will reach out with more information.
