GREEN CLUB
The Green Club is a service club that focuses on awareness & action. We strive to implement and promote environmentally sustainable and eco-friendly practices at M'KIS. Our main goals are:
To develop a better appreciation of nature in general and the flora and fauna of Malaysia.
To increase awareness among our school community on green issues on campus and outside school.
To support MKIS on the process to become an eco-school by developing greener practices on energy saving, recycling, reusing and reducing waste .
So far we have implemented a successful compost system, we have set up a garden, improve the recycling in the canteen and carry on a number of initiatives towards saving energy, banning the sale of disposable water bottles at school and create awareness about the environmental impact of reducing meat consumption in our diet.
In addition, every year we organize Conservation Week, a week of events connected to an environmentally friendly topic with the goal of inspire and involve our community.
Through our efforts, we hope to help our community to become greener and healthier. As we say: Go green or go home!
