I believe that educators are professionals dedicated to the art and science of teaching.
I believe that learning comes from confidence. Every student has the ability to succeed. It doesn't matter where we begin, because everyone reaches the finish line at their own pace. Each of us has taken a different educational journey. We all come from different backgrounds and experiences. Challenge leads to change and learning happens during the struggle. I believe that where the mind goes, energy flows. I believe in gradual release of responsibility, which is the "I do, we do, you do" model.
I strive to be the kind of teacher I would want my own kids to have. I am dedicated to finding the best practices that will help students improve their skills. I believe in getting students college and career ready and supporting them in their future goals.
My favorite part of being a teacher (aside from the actual teaching part) is getting to work with students at the middle school level, and especially 8th grade. Students at this age continue to impress me year after year. I genuinely love what I do, and I love the McKenney school community! Thank you for entrusting me with your student's education!
