Dear Families, August 11, 2020

Welcome to another school year! I hope you have enjoyed your summer, and are now ready for school. I have been teaching for 19 years, and I have worked with children from kindergarten to fifth grade. I am very passionate about watching kids grow and learn. First Grade is such a formative year, and I am honored that I get to spend this year as your child’s teacher.

Several of you have asked about bringing and donating supplies. The items we use a lot of are crayons, pencils, glue sticks, construction paper, and Kleenex. I start the class with these materials, but your donations are appreciated as well. Throughout the year, I will be sending out Wish Lists of supplies when we start to get low.

Next week I will be sending home a weekly Newsletter to keep you informed of upcoming events, and we will be starting homework on Monday, as well. I will give you more information in our weekly Newsletters. As for now, please read, fill out, and return the forms that are going home with your child today. The office staff would like to have them returned as soon as possible.

I am looking forward to getting to know your child, and partnering with you to help your child have a successful year. Please feel free to email me, or call to set up an appointment any time you would like to check in. Also, if you are interested in chaperoning field trips or being our PTO parent (someone who represents our class for PTO), please let me know.
