Sunshine Harlow

Hello! My name is Sunshine Harlow, and I have been a teacher with MJUSD for 16 years. I am excited to be a part of the educational services team this year. I am passionate about reading and looking forward to the opportunity to provide literacy support to the amazing teachers at MJUSD.

I come to you from Colusa Unified School District where I worked for the past 14 years. I taught in grades 2-5 and then became the reading specialist for grades K-3. I am dedicated to serving the fabulous teachers here at MJUSD as we work towards the goal of literacy for all.

According to the International Reading Association, “coaching” is an “ongoing consistent support to teachers for the implementation and instruction components. It is non threatening and supportive, not evaluative” (Shaw, 2007).

All teachers have a wealth of knowledge and experience. As literacy coaches, we are here to help you implement high quality literacy practices, as well as share your expertise with your colleagues.
