Approximately 18 WV High School STEM teachers who apply for the workshop will be invited to join the project as “Educator Influencers” (EIs). EIs who attend the workshop will recieve a $250 stipend, meals during the workshop and if needed 1 night of lodging in Morgantown by request.
During the workshop EIs will:
Meet Project leaders, learn about goals and pedagogy of the Exploring Geosciences Solutions (EGeoS) learning modules, a new initiative at WVU supported by the National Science Foundation
Provide feedback on module prototypes and work in small groups to draft new modules on topics of interest.
After the workshop, any of the EIs who implement the new modules in their fall 2026 teaching and provide feedback, will recieve
an additional $250 stipend
any necessary supplies for implementation
a classroom visit by a WVU project team member to help implement the module, observe the class and take any feedback from EIs and students
Additionally, three EIs from the 2025 workshop cohort will be selected to recieve funding to attend the WVSTA conference at in Flatwoods WV on October, 2026 and share their experience with EGeoS learning resources!
