Kotebetta, meaning "Fort Hill" in Kannada, is the third highest peak in Kodagu (Coorg), Karnataka, India. Standing at an elevation of around 1,620 meters (5,314 feet) above sea level, it lies between Madikeri and Somwarpet. The hill gets its name because its shape resembles a fort. Kotebetta is a popular trekking destination and is surrounded by lush coffee plantations and dense forests. The trek is moderately challenging and offers breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. At the summit, there is a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, adding a spiritual touch to the adventure. 

ಕೋಟೆಬೆಟ್ಟ, ಅಂದರೆ "ಕೋಟೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟ", ಇದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕೊಡಗು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮೂರನೇ ಎತ್ತದ ಶಿಖರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಮುದ್ರಮಟ್ಟದಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 1,620 ಮೀಟರ್ (5,314 ಅಡಿ) ಎತ್ತರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಮಡಿಕೇರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೋಮವಾರಪೇಟೆ ನಡುವಿನ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ "ಕೋಟೆಬೆಟ್ಟ" ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಇರುವುದು ಅದರ ಆಕಾರ ಕೋಟೆಯಂತೆ ಕಾಣುವುದರಿಂದ. ಕೋಟೆಬೆಟ್ಟ ಒಂದು ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಟ್ರೆಕ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಕಾಫಿ ತೋಟಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಕಾಡುಗಳಿಂದ ಆವೃತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಟ್ರೆಕ್ ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟಗಳ ಅದ್ಭುತ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಿಖರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವನಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತವಾದ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ದೇವಾಲಯವೂ ಇದೆ, ಇದು ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ತಳಹದಿಯನ್ನೂ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.
