The Mitchell Elementary PTA (Parent Teacher Association) enhances the quality of our students' education by fostering involvement from families and community.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Parent-Teacher Associations is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Jim Mitchell Elementary PTA shares in this mission by partnering with the Texas PTA and the National PTA.
WHAT IS PTA?
PTA is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers and others around the community and state who have an interest in children, families and schools. PTA membership is as diverse as Texas is in cultures, education levels and parenting skills. By joining PTA, a member becomes part of the largest child advocacy organization in the state with over 500,000 members across Texas.
WHAT DOES THE PTA DO?
There are three main ways that PTAs support our schools:
We advocate for our children by coordinating with teachers, administrators and staff to help provide programs and resources that are needed
We provide our time and energy to the school by volunteering and organizing programs
We fundraise for these programs that benefit all children at school.
