Meet the Live Family

The Live family is a family of four, with two students enrolled in Mission Vista Academy.

Mrs. Live is a successful attorney, but her practice requires that she spends a lot of hours at the office.

Mr. Live is a media consultant, but his hours are flexible, and he is able to work from home.

Their two children, Jenny and Marcus, are in the 10th and 8th grades, respectively.

Jenny and Marcus enjoy seeing their friends each day online and love participating in the school's live Choice Plus Academy classes.

On days when classes are held, Jenny and Marcus log into their classes online. There, they can see their friends, ask questions, and get help from their Highly Qualified Teachers (HQTs).

In between classes and on days when classes are not held, they work on the assignments their teachers have given them.

When questions come up while working on assignments, they are able to reach out to their HQTs for support.

They have the support of their Highly Qualified Teachers, their Homeschool Teacher, and their father as they work through their courses.

Jenny and Marcus' class schedules allow for plenty of time to work on class assignments and pursue other educational interests.

Jenny is taking a fashion design elective through Choice Plus Academy (CPA), and she enjoys using the sewing machine the school provided to create her class projects. She is also taking an American Sign Language course through CPA, and she likes how interactive the online curriculum is, whether using it in class or on her own as she works through her assignments.

Marcus enjoys music, and once a week, he takes drum lessons from an educational service vendor that partners with the Charter School.

Both students enjoy rock climbing as a way to get some physical fitness after a busy day of classes and assignments.

A local climbing gym partners with MVA, and Mr. Live enters service order requests each month through Homeschool Hub. Once those orders are approved by the students' HST and processed by Enrichment, Mr. Live takes the certificates into the gym, so that Jenny and Marcus can climb, free of cost.

Live, online classes and educational services help provide the educational support that this family needs.
