CLOTHING MANUFACTURING: THE APPAREL INDUSTRY.
Vision:
To establish an automated manufacturing process.
Mission:
To design and produce all the garments needed by our institutions.
The Apparel Industry was once an exporter of its production and employed uneducated and low-level workers in the community.
Today, the production of clothing, which was once considered low-class employment and was viewed as an art form in the prehistoric period, has undergone several technological advancements.
Technological innovations have helped apparel manufacturers, brand merchandisers, and retailers shift towards a new global reality where customer choice and service are not just priorities, but have the potential to create a significant difference between success and failure in a highly competitive market.
Furthermore, to succeed in the highly competitive market, it is essential to understand every aspect of the apparel industry.
Garment Engineering:
A. Work Study, Method Study, Work Measurement, and Motion Study Procedures and Techniques.
B. Activity Sampling, Wage Structure, Incentive Schemes, and Material Handling.
C. The Organization and the Role of the Supervisor, Production Planning Techniques and Procedures, Identifying Job Performance, Labor Cost Control in Manufacturing, Job Planning and Scheduling, and Work Distribution.
D. Supervisor's Role, Function, Duties, and Responsibilities.
E. Applying Work Study Techniques and Quality Control Procedures.
F. Developing Time Standards, and Piece Rate Setting, and finally,
G. Effective Communication, Oral & Written, and Efferent use of Plant and Machinery.
Today, the clothing sector in Turkey accounted for 12.8% of the country's industrial export in 2019.
The apparel sector has a significant impact on the economy, as it contributes substantially to the creation of new jobs, both directly and indirectly, and facilitates its integration with various economic sectors, both locally and globally.
Ladies' underwear is the bread and butter of any garment manufacturing operation.
