Computing systems and networks – Technology around us
This unit will develop the students understanding of technology and how it can help them. They will become more familiar with different types of technology in their environment and how they can benefit us. They will also develop their understanding of how to use technology responsibly

Year 2 sorted through everyday items and categorised them as examples or non-examples of information tecnology. They then provided their own examples of IT that they use.
This half term we also learnt how to log into Google, Accelerated Reader and TT Rock Stars using our usernames and passwords.
Learning objective: To identify what is information technology
Year 2 discussed how IT was used in public places, both internally and externally we then took part in an activity identifying common examples of IT and deciding whether it was used on the street or indoors. Children used the interactive whiteboard to share their ideas.
We used Press Play to explore different habitats, and Year 2 had a great time listening and joining in with the actions.
